What is Independent Living?

What is Independent Living? Independent Living Skills (ILS) services offer training and support to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, assisting them in achieving increased independence while living with others or in maintaining independent living arrangements. Our staff/facilitators are dedicated to keeping participants engaged in fulfilling activities that align with their interests and passions, including recreational, leisure, and creative pursuits. SDCLS provides assistance in various aspects of daily life, ensuring safety, teaching fundamental life skills such as budgeting and meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organization, grocery shopping, and attending medical appointments. Our support extends to helping our participants pursue their unique goals and aspirations.
